- No. You must enter the password yourself — the same one you'd use to open the PDF in any reader. This tool removes the encryption from PDFs you can already open; it does not bypass unknown passwords.

- Yes. The password is used in your browser to authenticate the PDF locally. It's never sent to any server, never logged, never stored.
- Does the PDF get uploaded?
- No. The unlock runs entirely on your device via WebAssembly. The file never leaves your browser.
- Why would I want to remove the password?
